The Premier League’s clubs are at the forefront, with a total of 832 million euros in annual shirt sponsorship and shirt supply transactions.
Recently, KPMG announced a study that shows that the total sponsorship revenue of the five major European leagues in 2020 exceeds 3.3 billion euros. Among them, shirt sponsorship revenue accounts for 1/3 of total revenue.
Among the five major leagues, the Premier League’s clubs are at the forefront. The annual jersey sponsorship and jersey supply transactions generate a total of 832 million euros, almost twice the 436 million euros of the La Liga clubs. In addition, the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 shirt sponsorship and supply transaction revenues were 289 million euros, 248 million euros and 148 million euros, respectively.
In the Premier League clubs, BIG6 (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham) accounted for 83% of the total annual shirt sponsorship. At the same time, among La Liga clubs, Real Madrid and Barcelona account for 80% of the total annual sponsorship income of La Liga.
