Edo Queens coach debunks reports on camp robbery, Obaseki set to move team to new hostel

Technical Adviser of Edo Queens Football Club Gabriel Adejor, has denied reports   posted in the social medial by some players of the team that armed robbers invaded their camp during the week.

Addressing the players at the camp after a meeting with some top government officials, Adejor described the rumoure as fake, adding that those involved in the act will face disciplinary action. He described them as disgruntled elements whose aim is to destroy the good image of the government.

‘’I want to use this medium to tell our numerous fans in the state and the country that what they have read on the social media about armed robbers invading Edo Queens camp is nothing to be taking seriously. In fact when one of the players called me to say that robbers where in their camp, I quickly took my car and raced to the camp, I was outside the camp for over 30 minutes I did not see any car or any person or group of persons. So I called the girls and ask them where are the robbers, why are you players raising force alarm, I have been here for over 30 minutes, why have you girls decided to be naughty, I want to say that whoever is behind this unprofessional act will not go unpunished.’’

‘’You girls did not stop at that, you went as far posting it on the social media, now tell me how do you think government will be happy with what some of you have done. Those who are behind this act are enemies of the team, by the time our investigation is over, anyone found guilty will definitely be shown the way out. ‘’

He described the act as total embarrassment to the entire state and the management team, he stressed that the authorities have directed the technical adviser and his team to investigate the matter and fish out the players involved.

‘’The Most Surprising Thing Is That These Players Where Given Few Weeks Break, as at the time this alarm was raised, the players were not supposed to be seen in camp, so I was astonished to see them in camp calling me that robbers are in their camp. Again most of these girls have very funny character, we know  that it would boring for them to be in camp when the new league season has not started, so we decided to let them go on few weeks break and resume training this weekend.  However, we are on top of the matter very soon those behind the act will be known.’’

Coach Adejor has also confirmed the directives given to him by the authority to drop some players who did not do well last season. ‘’I also want to confirm to you that we have dropped five players, from the team, we did not drop them act of hatred, they were dropped because of their poor performance last season. We are still going to drop more because the authorities have given us matching order to do all we can as technical managers to get the best legs for Edo Queens. The Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu is not happy that we did not make it to Super 4, so this time around, we must work very hard to excel as we prepare for the new league season.’’

Meanwhile Edo Queens will soon relocate to a new camp built by the state governor which will become a permanent camp for the female players in the state. The hostel which described as the best football camp in the country, is part of the campaign promises made by the ‘wake and see’ governor
