Nigeria’s Commonwealth Games Long Jump champion, Ese Brume from Delta State, has expressed her delight to emerge Nigeria’s only medalist at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Brume, won a bronze medal in the long jump event after jumping a distance of 6.91metres. This was her second longest career jump.
The Nigerian sensation won the bronze medal behind Germany’s Malaika Mihambo (7.30m) and USA’s Kenyattia Hackworth (6.92m), who placed first and second places respectively.
Ese Brume said: “This World Championship bronze medal means a lot for me. I’m super excited, because I have not been so strong all season because I wasn’t able to perform at bigger competitions. I am very happy winning this medal,” Brume told reporters in Doha.
