United were woeful throughout the game and paid the price with their 10th loss of a disappointing season.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing scored from the penalty spot for the Bluebirds in the first half before adding a second after 54 minutes.
And as the Red Devils did their customary lap of honour, some supporters appeared to single Pogba out for his lacklustre display.
They appeared to take umbrage at the World Cup winner’s prolific use of Instagram, before repeatedly telling him to ‘f*** off’.
Pogba, to his credit, refused to react to the hostility and kept his cool remarkably well.
The fans continued their barrage, calling the £85m midfielder ‘useless’, while he responded by giving them the thumbs up.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side ended their campaign without a win in their last six games in all competitions.
And fans called for Ed Woodward to be sacked after they finished sixth and missed out on Champions League football.
“‘Resign Woodward’ shouts one angry #MUFC fan behind the directors’ box,” wrote Press Association journalist Simon Peach.
“Talent without effort is useless,” wrote a fan on Twitter. “Woodward 7 years and no clue.”
After the 2-0 defeat, Solskjaer admitted it will “take a long time” for Manchester United to challenge for the Premier League title again.
“The last couple of months have been extremely hard for the team, the club and for the players,” said the Norwegian.
