Mohamed Salah declared fit for Liverpool last EPL game

Mohammed Salah will be available for the Reds’ final league match of the season.

The mood has certainly changed around Anfield in the past 48 hours, as a season that looked to be winding down without much of a chance at a trophy was turned dramatically around when the Reds broke Barcelona on Tuesday night. More drama followed yesterday, and Liverpool will be facing familiar foes Tottenham in the Champions League final three weeks and change from now.

There is still a job to do domestically, however, and although Vincent Kompany dealt a hammer blow to the Reds’ Premier League dreams with his statistically implausible thunderbolt against Leicester on Monday, Manchester City remain only a solitary point ahead of the Merseysiders, and Jürgen Klopp’s men must be ready to take advantage should Brighton pull off something similarly unlikely on the last day of the season.

It helps, then, that Mohamed Salaha has been cleared to play when the Reds host Wolverhampton on Sunday. Ruled out of the clash with Barcelona after suffering a concussion against Newcastle at the weekend, the Egyptian supported his teammates with his glorious presence and a Never Give Up t-shirt, watching on as his replacement Divock Origi put the Catalans to the sword.

Sitting on 22 goals, Salah is on pace to retain his Premier League Golden Boot, but just in case Chris Hughton’s men roll over against City and Sergio Agüero, a goal or two against Wolves should put him out of reach. Not to mention, Wolverhampton are a tough defensive side, and having all the big guns available could be a crucial component for the Reds’ success on Sunday.

In other injury news, Andrew Robertson looks set to be a game-day decision, with the fullback recovering from a calf problem suffered when his colleague Luis Suarez collided with him on Tuesday night. He’ll be going to Madrid, though.
