Enugu Rangers avenged their only loss in the NPFL this season with a 1-0 home win over MFM FC with coach of the Lagos club, Fidelis Ilechukwu, admitting they fell to the best team in the land.
A first-half strike by Ivorian striker Seka Pascal proved to be the difference between the two Group A front runners on Sunday in Enugu.
“We came to play with the best team in Nigeria, a team with the best players in the league and a team with the best coach in Nigeria. What did you expect?” queried MFM coach Ilechukwu after the game.
Rangers remain top of Group A with 31 points, seven points clear of third-placed MFM FC.
On Wednesday, they will be guests of relegation-troubled Bendel Insurance in a rescheduled game, before they tackle Enyimba in Aba at the weekend.
