NFF should restructure and overhaul the NNL League

By Abdulgafar Oladimeji, Kano.

The Chairman Giodano Football Club of Kano, Jamilu Wada Aliyu has urged the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, not falter on the immediate need to restructure the Nigeria National League, NNL.

He lamented that, the league competition format is in urgent need for prompt overhauling by the Federation, noting that, a competing playing format wherein competing clubs are schedule to play two games in a week, is a burden on players, coaches and administrative managers from the affected league clubs.

Jamilu stated that, playing two games per week, also subject the NNL league clubs to technical difficulties, adding that, “under such situations, players are prone to long injuries, since they hardly have time to recover, before their next game. And travelling arrangements in some cases is a huge problem.”

According to him, the Nigeria Football Federation owe it for the good of the league, to readjust the NNL calendar, which if articulated would provide a lasting solutions to the problems raised. Adding that, the suggested restructuring, if conducted would make room for the teams to raise their standard of play.

“We are begging the NFF to do the right thing, nobody is perfect, they know what to do to make it better,” Jamilu said.

He appealed to the organisers of the league, to brace up in addressing the lingering issues on the number of NNL clubs that should be relegated, cautioning that the unwarranted delays on the matter and other crucial issues can spell doom.

The Club Owner appealed to fans of the club, not to desist from showering their love on the team, noting that, players and coaches of the Kano side are working tirelessly to perform excellently in the new NNL season.

Jamilu disclosed that, his club has recruited fresh legs to prosecute the forth coming league season, while stating that, players whose services were no longer required have been asked to leave the club.
